Feel the spring air Woohoo !!! The rainy days have stopped and we can enjoy hiking with our son, who is almost two years old.

Since we are adventurous, we did not plan much. On just a day off, we grabbed the backpack with water, sunscreen, fruit, and snacks and went up to the mountain.  It was time to take our son to the biggest playground, the mountains.

There is nothing like enjoying nature. And, thank God this is something that is within reach here in California. What I love most about living here are the mountains. Wherever you go, you see them like huge skyscrapers and personally, I prefer them to skyscrapers.

On this impromptu trip, we went to The Claremont Hills Wilderness Park which is located at the start of the San Gabriel Mountains and the Angeles National Forest.

Because it had rained recently, we went through some small streams that were fun to cross. It reminded me a lot of my grandmother’s house in my country, Panama. She lives in the countryside. It is an earthly paradise and a blessing to be able to enjoy these little pleasures of mother nature.

The flowers accompanied us all the way, and we enjoyed making stops to greet them.

Many people were accompanied by their dogs. So, if you have a dog, don’t forget to take him/her for a walk too.

This park is a five-mile trail. However, we did 3 miles, because at the time we were not exercising. We went more to have the experience of enjoying an excursion with our son.

When we got to the middle of the road, we stopped to appreciate the great view and make a small playground while we relaxed and enjoyed the fresh air.
